Grief & Loss

Grief is about the loss of what once was, or what you hoped would be.

Whether it’s the passing of a loved one, the ache of miscarriage, or the unraveling of a chapter you held dear, grief has many forms. All of them deserve to be met with care, respect, and clinical skill.

Grief can follow the loss of someone important, but it can also come with the loss of a relationship, a role, a future you expected, or a chapter of life that has ended. There is also no single way to experience grief. It may involve sadness, anger, guilt, numbness, uncertainty, or changes in identity and relationships. Significant loss can also affect how you understand your life and what comes next.

Therapy provides a place to make sense of what has changed, understand your response to the loss, and gradually adapt without minimizing what mattered. The goal is not to “move on,” but to find a way to carry what has happened while continuing to build a meaningful life.
